Bio

Dawn Neri-Renner was born and raised in Lorain, Ohio and moved to the Tampa, Florida area in 1996.  Mainly a “self taught” artist, Dawn received all of her natural artistic ability from her father.  Early on, her main focus was in charcoals and portrait drawing.  She started painting when she was 18 and found her true passion in paintbrush and acrylics.

Painting professionally for well over a decade, her main focus has been on interior artistry on walls.  Dawn has always painted on a grand scale so the transition from canvas to walls was natural.  The largest portion of her business is mural work with a specialty in Trompe L’oeil (“to fool the eye”).  Now she has rekindled her passion for canvas work.  Canvas allows her to be much looser and more free than mural work, express her inner spirit and experiment with different mediums.

Dawn has painted abroad and has trained in both the US and Europe under some of the most renowned masters in their field.  Her artwork and faux finishing has been featured in a Southern Living Christmas showcase home; Mystic Dunes Resort near Disney World; the cover of a Cookbook; at Busch Gardens – Howl-O-Scream; and numerous custom and showcase homes.

Dawn has two sons and a daughter.  Her signature “Heart” paintings started with the idea of a series of painting for her daughter, Brynn, who has 9P monosomy, a rare genetic syndrome.  They provide a way for Dawn to express the “hope, joy, love” that Brynn has brought to her family’s life and hopes they will enable others to enjoy and take a minute to remember the things that are truly meaningful in life.
